The popular celebrity and fashion magazine Fabulous started it's days as a News of The World supplement. Once the newspaper was shut down following the phone bugging scandal, Fabulous was retained as part of The Sun's set up! These journalistic changes also meant the end of News Of The World Bingo and the arrival of Fabulous Bingo. Initially launched as part of the Gamesys, this sister site to The Sun Bingo, is now resident on the Virtue Fusion platform. Initially we felt that the move from Gamesys to Virtue Fusion didn't do either brand any good. Both had flourished in the Jackpotjoy group and it was a massive surprise to see them leave. Following the move we felt that Fabulous was left in limbo whilst work went into improving Sun Bingo. Thankfully Fabulous has started to try and return to former glories. Fabulous Bingo used to be more about the bingo than slots, but the latter now features a lot more. Fabulous Bingo Promotions
We used to see quite a few exclusive Fabulous Bingo promotions - some tied into fashion features that were in the magazine. Big prizes have included trips to New York, concert breaks and the bingo favourite car - the Fiat 500! These kind of promos have pretty much ended which is a shame. Instead the promotions tend to be jackpot related and or free bingo sessions. For example at time of writing all players could enjoy £1000 of daily free bingo games - with no deposit needed. Most promotions on Fabulous are shared with Sun Bingo or with other brands on the Virtue Fusion platform. Occasionally a slots promo may be shared with The Sun Vegas.
Our Verdict
Back on the Gamesys platform we always rated Fabulous as a better option than The Sun Bingo. We always felt it had the better promotions and we loved the magazine tie-in. After moving to Virtue Fusion it's safe to say that Fabulous was left a long way behind it's sister site. The Sun Bingo had more regular promotions and more options. Today Fabulous is simply a clone of The Sun Bingo and therefore offers players little or nothing exclusive. Perhaps it's biggest advantage is that it has all the trimmings of Sun Bingo - free games, welcome offer, player promos etc - but doesn't necessarily have the stigma that's attached to the brand. Overall though this is a brand who's best days are currently behind it.
