How To Play Blackjack & Win Cash Prizes

The objective of Blackjack is to accumulate cards that add up closer to 21 than that of the dealer's cards, without going over 21. The game can be single player or multiplayer but the aim is always to beat the banker. Each player plus the banker are dealt two cards - a player can opt to hit or stick in an attempt to get the best hand without going bust. If a player is dealt two tens or picture cards then they may have the option to split and in effect play two hands. Once all players have completed their turns the banker will aim to beat them all with their own cards. All players who beat the banker win.

Despite it's simplicity there is strategy involved. For example there are times when it's advisable to hit based on the cards on the table. On other occasions you may feel it better to cut your losses and stand and see if you can force the bank to go bust. Clever Blackjack players will use some level of strategy (and we don't mean counting cards) whenever they play. For some further advice we've put together some useful tips.

Blackjack Variations

Online Blackjack has many variations and perhaps the best way to get a feel for the game is to play for free. Once you feel you've mastered some of the basics - or discovered your own strategy - then you may wish to put these to the test in an online casino or live casino. The Live Casino is perhaps the closest you will get to playing for real - mainly as the game is played with a real deck and this makes card strategy more important. With computer blackjack each game is essentially a one off and will have no bearing on previous or forthcoming games.

When we first wrote about online Blackjack almost over ten years ago there wasn't much option when it came to playing online. Most sites had the basic single player game and that was it. Nowadays most casinos have a few variations including multiplayer, Super 21, American Blackjack, Pontoon, Double Attack, and Live games. Coral Casino for example have multiple different themed games whilst Betfair Arcade even have a Deal Or No Deal version of Blackjack.

Where To Play Online Blackjack

Blackjack is so popular that you'll find it available to play at just about every casino and slots brands. Even at bookmaker sites with live casino, download casino and vegas channels you'll usually find a version of Blackjack lurking somewhere. The key is simply to find a site where you're happy. If you prefer the real casino experience then the live games at the likes of William Hill, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power and Betfred may be ideal. The real casino sites are also the best bet if you're looking for different versions.

As mentioned above most sites will offer a free play demo version of their games, however you could always use the no deposit bonus offers to try Blackjack at other casinos. One thing you will need to check though is if the bonus can be used on table games as some won't allow it and instead restrict you to slots. You will also need to check wagering terms as table games often attract a much higher requirement than slots or bingo.
