Easter this year will be anything but a laid back, bank holiday weekend for
players in Sky Poker’s Super High Roller event. Taking place at 8pm on Easter
Sunday, 8 April, the event will pay out a guaranteed prize pool of £25,000 with
players able to buy seats for £110.
Thankfully, though, Sky Poker are operating a meritocratic system and are
consequently offering five different levels of satellite tournaments, with winners
given direct entry to the main event or a seat at the semi final:
One in five players in a £5.30 buy-in tournament will move up to the £24 buy-in
semi final, which in turn takes one in five players to the £25k game. Alternatively
you can choose between £6, £12, and £24 buy-ins to enter 20 person,10 person
or 5 person sit and go tournaments; with the winner of each playing in the
Sunday final.
Super High Roller events have been with us since around 2006, when the Aussie
Millions tournament was launched with a $100,000 buy-in. Since then, buy-
ins for that event have gone up to $250,000 with 20 players prepared to enter,
and similar tournaments in other countries are also providing great high-stakes
entertainment and inspiring sites like Sky Poker to stage their Easter event.
