Bubble Time Slot Review
Ducks are quite popular here on Loquax so when we saw a rubber duck icon for the slot game Bubble Time it was inevitable we'd give it a try. Bubble Time is a five reel 25 line slot game with a bathroom theme. Amongst the 10s, Jacks, Kings and Queens there are soap bottles, wine, soap, bubbles, candles and of course rubber ducks.
Bubble Time from Bally Games boats graphics that are lovely - although perhaps a bit too cartoony for 2019. The game is accompanied by a plinky plonky tune that has a kind of jolly summer feel to it. In fact the music wouldn't be out of place on a segment of Art Attack. One drawback is that the slot spins are a bit jerky and blocky - but we can forgive that as there's a nice vibe coming from this game.
Bonus Rounds
Wagering on Bubble Time starts at 1p per spin. Adjust the number of lines (1 to 25) and bet per line (1 to 100) to achieve a maximum bet of £25. The slot does have a Bet Max button but there are no autoplay features. The top paying symbol is the towel with wine and that rewards a player with x10000 for five of a kind. Who ever thought putting white text on a white bath background was a good idea needs to go back to the drawing board!
Bubble Time features two bonus rounds - Pop The Bubbles and Duck Rescue. Both are triggered when three symbols appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. With the bubbles you select two bubbles from a possible ten to determine your prize: the first is a cash value whilst the second is the multiplier. For the duck rescue you need to rescue the lost ducks from the bath - get three and you multiply your winnings.
Free Games
Look out too for free spin features. The Hot Spins is triggered when three hot drop scatters appear on reels 1, 3 and 5. During this round the bubbles and duck symbols become wilds. Similarly the Reel Freeze free spins activate when the Cold Spins symbol appears on reels 1, 3 and 5. The duck and bubbles are again substituted but reels freeze from right to left whilst the paylines remain active.
Despite several attempts we were unable to trial the bonus rounds during our test. Mind you, we did get five Kings and five Jacks during that time and left with £15 up from a £10 initial deposit. The game includes all the usual features including auto spin, bet max and line/coin size changes. You can play from 1p to 50p per line. Be careful when hitting play max as that will see you spend £12.50 in one go.
The Verdict
We originally reviewed this slot back in 2013 and enjoyed playing it. However a revisit a few years on and it's safe to say that's it not aged well. The reel spins are not smooth and this diminishes gameplay significantly. Back in 2013 you'd only find Bubble Time at Spin And Win plus sister sites Lucky Pants and Kitty Bingo. This is still the case and perhaps indicative that it's not the most popular slot.
