Enhanced Odds Welcome Offers

Traditionally bookmakers have tried to entice in new players by offering free bets. These used to be exactly that - free bonus money that could be used to spend on selected markets. However with tighter regulation these free bets tend to be of the matched bonus variety. After registering with a bookmaker you may have to place at least 5 as a single bet to get back 5 as a bonus bet. Terms and conditions will apply.

In recent times though bookmakers have turned to offering enhanced odds to attract new punters. These are special odds that are designed to catch the eye and are exclusive to first timers.

Enhanced odds are usually offered on big sporting events such as The Grand National, Premier League and Champions League. The premise is to give you high odds on what typcially should be a "sure thing". Of course that's not always the case but you're led to believe that!

Example!

For example - Arsenal play Aston Villa in the 2015 FA Cup Final. At time of writing Arsenal are 4/7 to win. However to attract new players a bookie may decide to enhance these odds to 5/1! This means that should you place a bet of 5 on The Gunners winning then you're getting 25 instead of around 3.

It should be noted though that rewards from enhanced odds may come with extra terms and conditions. For example you may not get your original stake back, and there may be wagering terms applied to any wins.

Enhanced odds offers are usually only around for a few days at a time. They do offer you the opportunity to cash in on a good offer, but remember that there's no such thing as a "sure win" - and if your bet doesn't come in then there's no bonus. If you're a bonus hunter then you may wish to stick with the standard bookmaker offers.
