Tombola are back with another set of TV ads and once again they're sticking to a tried and tested formula. Gather up a bunch of real players, give them some fun things to do and then package it altogether to create a simple but effective ad for the bingo site.
In the Tombola advert above we see real players sallysimmo and midnightluck trying their hand at segway racing, quadbiking and pizza making. Throughout the ad other players are in view and it's all designed to show how friendly the community is at Tombola. To sweeten the deal viewers are told about cheap bingo rooms plus the standard deposit offer of £20 free when you deposit £10. As ever the music to the advert is Love Generation by French DJ Bob Sinclair.
No doubt Tombola feel that these formulaic ads work for them - most certainly it helps create a buzz in the community. Other bingo sites have followed their ideas - for example Foxy and his bingo bus and Jackpotjoy with their Quickity Pick audience. Away from bingo brands like Giff Gaff have involved their community to create an advert - many zombies in their recent campaign were actual customers!
However, we're finding it all a tad stale and would have liked to have seen a different approach. At least it'd have been nice for a different song - at least that way you'd know this was a new campaign. Still if it ain't broke...
