The Biggest Party In Town
Added on Wednesday 7th August 2013
It's eyes down for the biggest party in town as OK Bingo has relaunched. It joins sister sites Daily Star and Daily Express on the G2Tech network and for a very limited period you can pick up £5 free, no deposit required, when you join. This freebie will be reduced down to £1 eventually so jump in whilst you can.
Like The Daily Star and Daily Express, OK Bingo have used the same formula of a celebrity endorsement approach for their relaunch and TV campaign. They've brought in Roxy Mitchell, sorry we mean Channel 5's weather presenter Sian Welby to take on the role that Claire Sweeney and Vinnie Jones have at the other brands. Sian appears in both the advert and on the website and is an interesting choice for OK to choose as perhaps she's not as well known as Jones or Sweeney. Still it's a better than a random reality TV show wannabe, Katie Price or Kerry Katona!
The advert isn't particularly original. Sian appears out of a Dr Evil style bingo ball chair and then proceeds to tell us about what you can find at OK Bingo. There's the ubiquitous sofa ladies playing on their laptops, plenty of flashy graphics, glitter balls and of course your invite to the biggest party in town.
That said, Sian does add a nice touch of glamour to proceedings. We guess that if you're going to trot out a tried and tested "ladies on the sofa with a laptop playing bingo" advert, then extra glamour does help. Of course you also need glamour if you're a gossip and celebrity brand like OK! Heatworld who recently launched Heat Bingo - should take note that a Channel 5 weather presenter is much more appealing than a Chihuahua in a bow tie.
