Do You Like Winning
Added on Monday 30th September 2013
Bingo adverts come in all styles but it's not normal for us to take an instant dislike to one. The last ad that really ground the old gears was Minxy Bingo's "Jane" one but 32Red Bingo may well have just nicked the edge on that one. The premise of this new campaign is that winners play at 32Red Bingo.
The ad kicks off with an elderly gentleman in his orange Austin Allegro trying to park in a Supermarket. However, before he can reverse into his space it's stolen by a female driver in a red car with the registration "32 R3D" number plate. Obviously she's very pleased with this "win".
The same lady is then seen in the Supermarket competing against another shopper to be first at the checkout as the store is closing. Again our 32Red player comes out on top with a stunning trolley move. At this point we're informed about the welcome offers from 32Red Bingo. We're told that 32Red is the place to go if you like winning and that there's also £10 free play available. Finally we switch to the park and a man is seen throwing a red ball for his dog to catched. The car park space stealing lady is back again to catch the ball first and returns it to the man.
Now 32Red's aims with this advert is to suggest that if you like winning then you should play at their site. We'd like to know how stealing an elderly gent's parking space is regarded as a "win". That's just low and not something we think is remotely funny. The checkout scenario is slightly better but again potentially jumping the queue shouldn't be regarded as a "win". As for catching the dog's ball - we think by this time the ad people behind this awful thing had lost the plot.
It's nice to see something different bingo wise, but this has the cringe factor. If being a "winner" is someone who has zero manners in parking and shopping scenarios then sorry 32Red you're barking up the wrong tree.
