A Landmark Bingo Bonus - But Not Really

With so few new bingo adverts lately we're grasping at straws a little with this update. It comes from one of Cozy Games' longest established members of the Live Bingo Network, Landmark Bingo. The clip is thirty seconds long but doesn't include a voice over. We wonder whether this is just a bit of fun or if it's a precursor to a real TV campaign?
The video is OK as it features lots of bingo balls and highlights the bonus offer that's available at Landmark Bingo. This is a 350% first deposit bonus, 250% second deposit bonus and a 300% third deposit bonus. So far so good! However Landmark then go and ruin the whole thing by then saying "Enjoy 900% bonus on first three deposits". Argggghhhhh!
That line pretty much kills the possibility of this being an advert because surely ASA will have a field day with this! It's the biggest bugbear we have with Cozy Games sites - more so than their withdrawal terms. Here's why it's annoying and also so wrong:
Landmark Bingo claim there's a 900% bonus on deposits. For that to be the case you would receive £90 when you deposit £10. However, as a new player you receive a 350% bonus, a 250% bonus and a 300% bonus on three deposits - that means you have to make three x £10 deposits to receive the bonus cash! But how much do you receive?
- 350% bonus - £35 on £10
- 250% bonus - £25 on £10
- 300% bonus - £30 on £10
- Total: £90 bonus money but £30 deposited!!!
This is not a 900% bonus! It's actually a 300% bonus! Bonus amounts are not accumulative i.e. 250+300+350=900 but that doesn't mean you have a 900% bonus - you have (250+300+350)/3=300! It's elementary mathematics and if this was an advert it would be deemed misleading. The worse thing is that the vast majority of the Cozy Games brand do this - and it's not very impressive.
We're off now to lie down in a dark room. If you do fancy trying Landmark Bingo then their games are a lot better than their mathematical prowess and they have plenty of promotions for you to enjoy.
