Mirror Bingo recently relaunched on the Virtue Fusion platform and now they're about to hit the TV screens with a new TV advert. It starts off in an old style bingo hall, reminiscent of those you would find at Butlins in the 60s and 70s. The presenter Bobby Bingo announces it's time for Big Time Bingo but is dismayed to find that he only has an audience of one.
Rather than ask where all the players are, Bobby is more concerned about where his career has gone. At first we thought the same as Bobby Bingo reminded us of Bobby Ball. However we're pretty sure it's not one half of Cannon & Ball, although sadly we've been unable to confirm who the actor playing the game show has been actually is!
Anyway Mirror Bingo's advert quickly goes to modern day type by switching to two attractive young ladies say on the sofa looking agog at their tablet. Of course they're playing at Mirror Bingo and are obviously pleased to be receiving £40 to play when they make a £10 deposit. The voiceover lady ends the 20 second ad with the tagline "Let's Get The Balls Rolling".
Disappointingly Bobby Bingo vanishes without a trace in this advert, although a career advertising double glazing (you buy one you get one free) will beckon. We quite liked the character though and feel that Mirror Bingo copped out a little by jumping on the two girls on a sofa route. The tagline of "Let's Get The Balls Rolling" also feels out of place - it almost feels as though someone just added it as an afterthought.
We'd have preferred seeing Bobby Bingo being fast forwarded to the current day and being a bingo caller at Mirror Bingo. After all online sites do still have number callers. He could be wandering around the hall commentating over the tablets and mobiles of players. This would give the brand character, be more interesting and going beyond the cliche.
