Tombola have unveiled their latest TV advert and once again they're relying on showing real players to attract players to Britain's Biggest Bingo Site. The advert takes elements from recent campaigns - the players plus showing the games like Cinco and Pulse as big wall elements.
The advert kicks off with players entering a room, relaxing, chatting and playing bingo via mobile. We guess it's designed to represent a typical Tombola room. A comfortable place to hangout, have a laugh with friends and enjoy the games. Throw in a handful of chat hosts to look after things and you've got the perfect place to play.
Players are invited to "come join the fun" and "play responsibly" at Tombola. Surprisingly there's no new player bonus incentive featured in the advert. Instead the emphasis seems to be on cheap games (play from 2p) and big jackpots. Not emphasising the welcome bonus is a nice change and perhaps heralds a move to reactivate interest from past players as opposed to gaining total newbies?
As with most previous Tombola ads it's a highly polished affair, but at the same time it's pretty unexciting. There's none of the razzmatazz you get with say a Foxy Bingo advert or insanity of Mr Winner of Winner Bingo. In fact there's very little that's memorable. Don't get us wrong - it's a nice advert but it doesn't jump out at you. For some that may actually be a good thing.
The thing is that it doesn't look that "fun". Everyone is obviously enjoying themselves but the comfy sofas and happy faces suggests you're in a posh hotel bar rather than playing bingo. We much preferred the "events" adverts which showed Tombola players doing different things like archery and flying down a zip wire. This advert is just a tad too sedate... it'll probably do incredibly well!
