To date, 2016 has not been a vintage one for bingo adverts. In fact only Foxy Bingo have come up with something new. All the other brands have relied on regurgitating things that we've already seen before. Jackpotjoy however are falling between the two - with a brand new advertising campaign that has a lot of familiarity to it.
The new Jackpotjoy '250 Chances To Win' adverts will be appearing in April - look out for them between shows like Coronation Street and Emmerdale. The '250 chances...' refers to the number of Sapphire Bingo games played per day, in each game there is a chance to win the Jackpot.
You can see one of the advert variations above. In it, The Queen Of Bingo - Dame Barbara Windsor - returns to shout "balls" very loudly. She then hits a button a console which fires out the big blue balls to various places like the park and garden - the usual places where people love to play bingo.
To be honest, Babs looks a little bit manic in this campaign. There's also a bit less of the 'carry on' cheekiness that we've seen in other adverts. Another thing that's different in this adverts compared to others is that Barbara is in less formal attire.
In previous ads she's had a "Queen Elizabeth I" style however in these new clips she's lost her huge cloak. That actually may explain why she looks a little bit more manic. With her big winged collar and console there's definitely an element of James Bond villain going on. On the plus side you instantly know it's a Jackpotjoy advert and we do love Barbara in her royal role.
