Following problems with their last TV campiagn, Tombola upped sticks from the fairground and moved to an island setting. Apparently their were concerns that the fairground attracted children to the advertising and so Tombola Island was born. A kind of Jurassic Park for people wanting to enjoy Bingo Roulette, Cinco, Bingo 50, Bingo 90 and the rest of the great games at Tombola.
The main advert, above, has become the basis of several smaller clips, titled Postman, Vine and Backing Singer, that involve the island, host and various characters. To coincide with the advert Tombola also redesigned their site to fit in with the island theme - a clever move!
The advert is a bit Ronseal - it does what it says on the tin - but it's never really spectacular or memorable in bingo terms (whether that's bad memorable or good memorable). The island setting could become a good basis to develop things though, and it'll be interesting to see how Tombola develop the theme and/or characters as well as the "Ola Tombola" message.
The music to the advert is specially done for Tombola according to Tombola themselves, however we've no idea who the main star of the advert is... is he famous or just an unknown?
