Bingo Is Not Gambling - A Song By Anthony Burke

Over the last few years we've been writing bingo articles for Loquax and also for other sites including Bingo Blog. However, that has issues with regards duplication and searching out original articles. So we've decided to focus on Loquax and sadly Bingo Blog has gone into cold storage - at least for the now. However one feature we used to do on the blog was Strange Video Of The Week - and we're going to keep that going here. To kick things off here was the last one from Bingo Blog:

Calling it strange is a little unfair though but when we first saw the title we expected that it would be all about bingo and how the singer saw the game. However it's in fact quite a beautiful love song. If we understood it right it's about childhood sweethearts who are still together in their later years. Anyway take a look - it's not a flashy video though, just Burke singing "one of his East Coast inspired songs on a Mackenzie & Marr guitar".

"You used to walk me home from school, you now walk me home from bingo" is quite a nice sentiment to highlight how folks can stay together for a long time and remain as much in love as they did when they first met. It's a decent enough track and despite initial reservations we actually quite liked it. Perhaps the only thing that is confusing is the actual title "Bingo Isn't Gambling". There's no actual reference to gambling in the song (at least we couldn't make it out anyway).

Perhaps it means that loving that person who they walk home from bingo wasn't a gamble... who knows - what do you think? Anyway it's nice to find something different amongst our usual video searches - we're incredibly bored by Innuendo Bing clips and if we can avoid adding any more we'll do our best. Perhaps there should be a "bingo song contest" - we wonder what kind of tunes would appear in such a thing.

On a serious note, and we have to say this, bingo in it's non-song form is gambling and as such should be taken seriously in terms of game play and spend!
