Win A Million Quid Playing Online Bingo
Who wants to be a millionaire? Unless you are one you're probably already nodding your answer to the question. However, can you become a millionaire playing online bingo? The straightforward answer is "yes", "yes you can", but as with all things in life the reality is a tad more complicated. The problem with million pound bingo games is that the odds of winning are usually pretty slim.
A few years back, when there were 100s of bingo brands and no deposit bonus offers, the Dragonfish Network ran a thrice weekly million pound bingo game. Ticket prices varied depending which day of the week you played, but there was always a top prize of a million quid. Although these games ran for several years until they closed in July 2018 we can tell you that no one ever won a million. And it's all to do with number calls and sliding jackpots.

A Sliding Jackpot game is one where the prize money varies depending on when, for example, a full house is called. If a card is completed is 16 to 30 calls then the big prize is awarded. However the jackpot decreases as the number of calls increases. So a player calling house after say 60 calls wouldn't be taking home a million. More likely they'd win the "guaranteed jackpot" which is the minimum prize offered for a full house - and it's usally way off a million quid.
Dragonfish haven't been the only network to run million quid games. Back in 2016 Virtue Fusion hosted a No Lose Play For A Million game. This was a more straightforward game with a full house winner and everyone wins prizes. However, although billed as a million quid game the full house prize was £500,000. Even if the full house winner had also bagged the 1L and 2L prizes they'd still have only walked off with £800K. No millionaires there then.
Fast forward to the present day and the million pound game looked extinct. The only million pound game left on the circuit was Self Made Millionaire at Moon Bingo and it's sister sites. This plays every Saturday at 10pm for £1 a ticket. To win the top prize you'll need to call a 75 ball full house in 1 to 24 calls. The minimum jackpot for the full house is £1000. House must be called in 35 calls or more for the £1000 prize. This means the odds are heaviliy in favour of the £1000 prize always being awarded.
Joining Self Made Millionaire is Bingo Millions. This is a new concept from a company called Mutuel Play and combines a lottery style game with bingo. Players, at sites like Buzz Bingo and Slots Gold, need to call house in a limited number of calls to win a progressive jackpot that starts at £1.5million. There are 80 and 90 ball versions available and tickets cost just 50p. Each game has a fixed number of calls which creates multiple winners. However the prizes on offer are highly dependent on number calls.
The chances of winning either Self Made Millionaire or Bingo Millions are slim. We're pretty sure that no millionaires have been created from the Moon Bingo game. Bingo Millions is new and finding it's feet. Whilst the odds are against players we suspect that if the progressive reaches a certain amount then there may "it must be won" games. Something to look out for in the future if the concept takes off.
Unfortunately the best chance of being a bingo millionaire is to head to the slots. Games like Mega Moolah have huge progressive jackpots but playing won't be cheap. At least with slots there have been big money winners. We remember Jackpotjoy dishing out huge cash sums when Deal Or No Deal slots first launched. Our trackpots worked well during those days!
