Play Costa Bingo On Your Mobile

Of all the sites that have embraced mobile, Costa Bingo have been one of the few that have really pushed the format. They have created exclusive rooms and offered exclusive prizes to their players who switch from the laptop to the mobile or tablet. However, is it worth grabbing your smartphone for a bit of sun themed bingo?

Since we last reviewed a Cassava based mobile site, things have changed a little in terms of what's on offer. In the original versions of bingo there was just 90 ball games and no pattern games. The scrolling was also just downwards. Now we have sideways scrolling and plenty of 75 ball games. There are also a lot more choice when it comes to instants.

New players can register with Costa Bingo via the mobile site. One thing missing is any indication of a welcome first deposit offer or no deposit bingo. Registering is straightforward although you will need to include your mobile number. Make sure the box for mobile communication is unticked else you'll get SMS messages on a regular basis.

Once you've logged into mobile Costa Bingo you enter the lobby. You're greeted with a selection of free bingo rooms, although non-depositors only have access to three of the rooms - everything you'd expect from the web version. By scrolling sideways you'll find the 90 ball, 75 ball, super jackpot and promotional games. Away from playing bingo, you can access your account via a button in the lobby. This gives you the chance to deposit, withdraw, turn off the sound and logout.

We tested Costa Bingo's mobile site on an iPhone. Overall we found the transitions a bit clunky and not as smooth as we'd like. Another irritation was that you can't play in landscape mode on iPhone - as soon as you tilt your phone you're told to go back to portrait. In terms of exclusive rooms there's only the Roam Free area that's especially for mobile/tablet funded players. We'd have like to have seen this better highlighted as if you didn't know it was exclusive you'd never be able to differentiate it from the other rooms.

Costa Bingo have been proactive in pushing the mobile bingo product and they do have plenty of games - as they do on their PC based site. We can't fault the bingo, but the feel of the app doesn't make us want to reach for the mobile too often.

At time of writing the Costa Bingo App on iTunes had 4.5 stars from 69 ratings.
