Game Show Bingo Launches At Jackpotjoy

Jackpotjoy have launched a brand new game this week and it's called Game Show Bingo. It's a 90 ball game that's introduced by The Queen of Bingo herself, Barbara Windsor. As well as the usual prizes for one line, two lines and a full house there's also a Community Jackpot and a Guaranteed prize for winning in 51 calls or less.
The holding page for Game Show Bingo is big bright and colourful, pretty much as you'd expect from Jackpotjoy. Cards cost 25p and when we played there was a BOGOF offer running. When the game kicks off it's your standard 90 ball affair but with Barbara Windsor doing the bingo calls and congratulating the winners. Babs is quite enthusiastic with her calls and it's a bit strange at first hearing Peggy Mitchell shouting at Two Fat Ladies!
The unique selling point of Game Show Bingo comes after the full house is called. Providing you qulaify you're invited to play a bonus round to win some free cards. You only qualify for the bonus game if you've bought at least six cards. In our test bonus game we had to fire cannon balls at sumo wrestlers to try and get a high score. This score plus the room score then results in winning a number of free bingo tickets. Note that the bonus round games vary - in our second test we played a box collecting bungee round whilst in another round it was balloon popping.
Any free cards you win don't count towards the bonus round of subsequent games, so you must buy six more cards to make sure you qualify again. There's a frustrating little delay between the end of the bingo and start of the bonus rounds but it's a fun "extra". The bonus game variations also prevent things going stale. One down side to this new launch from Jackpotjoy is that on the left of the console is a mini game. Unfortunately you can't switch this off and that is not good if you're a bingo player who's tempted by slots.
With Game Show Bingo Jackpotjoy have come up with a fun new way to play - albeit that the format is similar to Bejewled Bingo where at the end of that you play a round of Bejeweled. The concept though ties in with the way the site has been developing since the Quickity Pick campaign. It does seem to us that "game show" is the direction JPJ are moving in during 2013 - something that will make them stand apart from their main competitors going forward.
