Bingojoy Are The Latest To Close

The forthcoming Point Of Consumption Tax, new legislation that will effect online gaming brands, looks like it's starting to have an early effect. Recently we reported the demise of We Luv Bingo on Cashcade and Love Bingo on G2Tech. Now it seems that two more sites on G2Tech are getting itchy feet.

Earlier this month we received notification from Bingojoy that "it is with regret that we inform you that the BingoJoy brand will be closing and will cease to offer Bingo and side games from 11th September 2014". This is not a surprise in the slightest as the brand has been treading water for a while now.

Bingojoy launched in 2007 and even had it's own bingo TV channel with games hosted by Brian Dowling. Although part of the St Minver/G2Tech network it never really raised it's profile and when the TV channel closed that was pretty much the beginning of the end. Whether the brand's closure is down to the POC tax remains to be seen but it does seem strange to see G2Tech removing brands.

Questions over the POC tax being an influence on decision making on site closure however is raised further with the news from Yahoo Bingo. As far as we're aware they're not closing, but what they are doing is terminating their affiliate relationships. We were informed today that "Yahoo Bingo will no longer be promoting their brand via any affiliates on the St Minver network as of September 25th".

Could this decision be a cost cutting exercise because of future POC tax implications or is it simply that Yahoo Bingo is so bad that very few affiliates actually promote them? Either way, as in the case of Bingojoy, this is not a big loss to players or the industry. We wouldn't be surprised to see a change in the future with either the site closing or it changing to another platform.

If you enjoy playing at the likes of Love Bingo, Bingojoy and Yahoo but perhaps would like a stabler site to deposit your money then our advice is visit Chit Chat Bingo. This is the flagship brand of the G2Tech sites which also include Daily Star Games, Daily Express Games and OK Bingo. Players at the closing sites mentioned should receive details in due course about how to withdraw funds.
