Bingo Scotland Are Also Closing This Month

Published On 8th August 2018

Yesterday we told you that ITV Bingo and Telly Talk Bingo had announced their intentions to close as of 31st August. At the end of the article we speculated whether other Cashcade brands would have much of a future. Well, the answer to that is "no" in the case of Bingo Scotland. They too have announced their closure as of the end of this month.

In an email to it's players, Bingo Scotland encourages withdrawal of any cash funds. In addition players should try and play out any remaining bonuses. They go on to say that "after Friday 31st August you will no longer be able to access Bingo Scotland nor your account".

One Of The Oldest Online Bingo Brands

If you're having issues with your account then there are contact details: "If you have been unable to withdraw any funds from your account prior to this date you will be required to contact the customer services team on 0800 279 4579 or [email protected] for any account queries".

Bingo Scotland is one of the UK's oldest online bingo brands. It began life in 2005 as a sister site to Think Bingo and was owned by Herotech. They sold their sites on to Cashcade, the people more well known for Foxy Bingo. Scotland and Think maintained a following with their own forums - although these eventually closed down as social media developed.

1000s Of Scottish Players

The brand was also one of the first to produce a TV advert, although we're not sure the one above ever made transmission. The advert, which would never make it on the box today, boasts that the site was Scotland's dedicated bingo community and had 1000s of Scots playing. They also offer a £5 no deposit bonus! Life back in 2008 was a lot more simpler when it came to online bingo.

The demise of Bingo Scotland has however been inevitable. Like ITV and Telly Talk, plus other Cashcade brands such as Little Big, Kiss My and Graces, it's never been given much love and attention since being acquired by Bwin and then GVC. Losing it's affiliates in 2017 was another blow but it's popularity amongst players was already waining.

It's unclear whether Bingo Scotland will return in the future but we don't expect it to relaunch on another platform. We expect links will redirect to Think Bingo. Ultimately it does seem that the Cashcade group is going to be boiled down to Foxy, Cheeky and Think - and even that may get trimmed further.
