Gone Bingo Is Now Just Gone

Published On 17th April 2019

The reduction of brands using the old Cozy Games platform - now ElectraWorks - continues. Earlier in the month we told you about the demise of Snappy, Think and Comfy amongst others. We knew that there would be more to follow but didn't anticipate that they'd go until May. We now know of another 6 sites closing on the platform - including another golden oldie.

The latest bingo site casualty is Gone Bingo. This is a massive surprise to us as it's always been one of the more successful Cozy brands that we've featured. It launched around 2007/2008 and picked up a Which Bingo Award for Best Newcomer. They were one of the founding sites on the Best Bingo Network although by the end of 2017 all Cozy sites were essentially on the same platform.

More Cozy Closures

What we do know is that Gone isn't the only Cozy brand to close the virtual doors this week. Sinking alongside them are Bingo Boat, Bingo Anywhere, Honey Bees Bingo, Play2Win Bingo and Sola Bingo. Players trying to visit these sites will now be redirected to Landmark. Based on that we can assume that Landmark will be one of the last - if not the only - brand standing.

Whilst we can safely put our shirt on Landmark Bingo surviving a little bit longer, what about others? Given that we expected Gone to survive the "Cozy Cull" we're now wondering what the future holds for pretty much all of the remaining sites. A quick scan at other portals and some of the closed brands mentioned above actually feature in those site's top 10s!

What Is Going On?

So why so many closures? Unfortunately basic accounting is the reason for the numerous closures to date and to come. The sites that are shutting their doors are no longer profitable. They're also not attracting as many players as in previous times so slowly but surely they no longer generate enough revenue to justify remaining online.

The key to this has been the changes in bonuses plus increased point of consumption taxation. Sites like Gone used to offer £15 no deposit bonuses plus had unfriendly withdrawal terms. These alongside better offers tied players into the site. Now the welcome bonus has changed and withdrawals are easier - players are winning and leaving. Sadly they'll be more sites to follow Gone and be gone from the online bingo world.

Unfortunately, Gone Bingo has now closed and therefore not accepting any more players. Follow the link for alternatives to Gone Bingo. #AD
