Landmark Bingo To Close In August

Published On 17th July 2019

Over the last seven months we've seen a large number of Cozy Games bingo sites close their doors. Our own Snappy Bingo, Gone, Harrys and Champers have been amongst the numerous closures. Until recently any closed site was redirecting players to Landmark Bingo, the original member of Cozy's Live Bingo Network. This led us to speculate that Landmark would be surviving the cull - we were wrong.

We've received notice that Landmark Bingo will close it's doors in August 2019. Given that this was the "flagship" brand of the Live Bingo Network powered by Cozy, and the destination for other closures, the demise of Landmark is a significant - well landmark! For us this decision basically signals the end of the Cozy Games Network and suggests to us that all roads will most likely lead players to Foxy and Cheeky.

Viva La Bingo

At time of writing there are still a number of other brands running on the Cozy platform. In truth we should refer to is as ElectraWorks, the company set up by GVC Holdings when they acquired the Cozy platform. However if Landmark isn't being retained then that surely makes the position of lesser known sites even more precarious. We can't imagine that Jungle Fever, Buddha Bingo and Viva La Bingo are doing storming business.

Interestingly many of the brands that are still live on this platform don't have affiliate programs. We suspect that they're also owned by the same company and there may be a few wranglings going on before the sites can be closed. However, we fully expect a large proportion of the brands that remain open to now close between now and the end of 2019. It wouldn't surprise us to see 2020 start with just Foxy and Cheeky offering bingo as an Elektra Works site.

Cheeky Bingo

To be fair it's not a bad idea. Since UKGC interventions in 2017 and the subsequent sale to GVC Holdings, Cozy Games bingo brands have struggled. Now that Foxy and Cheeky are using the platform, the owners want them to have the best service and games. They don't want to share them. It's far better to focus on developing Foxy then worrying about how badly 100+ inherited brands that you don't care about are doing.

GVC are mainly about big brands - Gala, Ladbrokes, Coral and Foxy fall under their umbrella. They don't need to be investing time and resources for a handful of players who may stumble across the likes of Bingo1, Arctic Bingo, Bingo Gran and Bubblegum Bingo. Closures will also mean Foxy and Cheeky will have their own platform - GVC will be hoping that they can then emulate Gamesys or Tombola by building upon it without distractions.

Unfortunately, Landmark Bingo has now closed and therefore not accepting any more players. Follow the link for alternatives to Landmark Bingo. #AD
