Powerbolt Jackpots are must win cash pots and they're available at Heart Bingo and Jackpotjoy.
Must win jackpots are progressive prizes that have to be won in a selected time. For example within an hour, day or week. On most casino and slot brands you will find that these jackpouts are usually "must be won daily" such as the ones advertised by Jose Mourinho for Paddy Power Games. Progressive jackpots aren't unusual on bingo brands however we believe Gamesys are the first platform to take the daily jackpot drop concept and apply it to bingo. So what exactly are the Powerbolts and how do they work?
What Are Powerbolt Jackpots?
There are two Powerbolt jackpots running at any one time at Jackpotjoy or other Gamesys bingo brands. The Maxi Bolt, which starts at £1000, is a daily progressive that starts running at midnight and must be won by 10pm. It's a linked game so the prize can be won across multiple sites. To win the prize you need to call house in 38 calls or less. However throughout the day the number of calls required to win will progressively increase. If by 9.55pm no one has won the jackpot then the final game of the session will see the number of calls increase to 90 to guarantee a winner.
Joining the Maxi Bolt is the Mini Bolt jackpot. This is a smaller jackpot that starts at £10 and can be won regularly throughout the day. Whereas the Maxi is linked, the Mini Bolt prize is exclusive to individual sites. Therefore Heart Bingo will have a different Mini Bolt jackpot to Jackpotjoy. The number of calls required to win the Mini Bolt is fixed and higher than the 38 for the start of the Maxi. If the Maxi Powerbolt is won then the Mini Powerbolt gets boosted as ticket money that would go towards the Maxi is instead added to the Mini.
Where To Play Powerbolt Jackpots
Powerbolt Jackpots can be played in the Sapphire Room at Jackpotjoy, Candy Club at Heart Bingo, Candy Club at Smooth Bingo and The Clubhouse at Virgin Games. Remember that the Maxi Powerbolt Jackpot is the same for all these brands. However all have their own Minibolt and it might be worth checking each one before you play. For example at time of writing Heart's prize was just over £30 whilst at Jackpotjoy it was up to almost £170. It'd be nice if we could trackpot these particular progressives and see how often - and when - they fall at the different sites.
The addition of daily must win jackpots for bingo rooms seems like such an obvious thing it's a surprise that no one else has done it until now. There's no doubt that online bingo has lost a bit of shine but we think the Powerbolts give game play a bit of oomph. We especially like the individual Mini Powerbolts that can are exclusive to the various sites. Plus we like that if the Maxi is won then the Mini pot is boosted for bigger prizes. Overall we think this is a good innovation and it'll be interesting to see how players and other bingo operators react.
