Hexabingo is a brand new and innovative version of bingo from Relax Gaming. Innovation with respect to the popular numbers game is often limited. We have seen some excellent additions such as The Machine from Tombola but equally there's been disappointments including Bingo Blast by Pragmatic Play and Even Stevens from Dragonfish. Hexabingo thankfully falls into the latter category as this first invention from Relax Gaming provides players with something fun and totally different from what has gone before.

How To Play Hexabingo
This new game has a Blockbusters look to it! Dark hexagons make up the background whilst a neon Hexabingo logo shines brightly from the left. When you open up the game for the first time you'll be invited to select your "buy-in" and an avatar. Buy-ins start at 50p but can be increased to £1, £2, £5, £10, £25, £50 and £100. The higher your stake the higher the potential full house prize on offer. At 50p you can play for up to £500 whilst it jumps to £100,000 should you be mad enough to wager £100 on one game. In all honesty we don't understand why Relax Gaming have added these huge wagers! To make the game more fun you can select an avatar from the selection on offer. Once you've picked your buy-in and avatar you're almost ready to play. The next stage is for Hexabingo to determine how much you're actually going to play for. A set of six prize amounts (varying between x2 and x1000 the wager) are shown on screen and these are then reduced to two - a minimum and maximum. The computer then selects one, which is more often than not the lowest amount, as the prize.
First To Daub A Horizontal Line
Hexabingo is only played between three players so you may have to wait for others to join. The Hexabingo game room kind of resembles a poker table. Your positioned in the middle whilst your opponents are on the left and right of the screen. Unusually you can see the bingo tickets for all players. Each ticket is a 3x3 card with 9 numbers. The aim of the game is to daub a horizontal line before your opponents. Before a number is drawn you'll see either a 'H', 'E' or an 'X' this gives you an indication of which line a number will be called on. Note that Hexabingo is a 27 ball game. Numbers 1-9 are H numbers, 11 to 18 are E numbers and the remainder 19-27 are X numbers. As numbers are called any matched numbers are marked off your and your opponent's cards. Seeing how your opponents are progressing gives the game an extra bit of edge. Whichever player gets a horizontal line - spelling HEX - first will win the prize that was predetermined before the game. Getting a vertical or diagonal line will not result in a win. At the end of the game you'll be invited to play again!
Our Verdict
Hexabingo is a truly unique game for the bingo market and we applaud the innovation shown by Relax Gaming. It's simple to play and a lot of fun. Each game gives you a 1 in 3 chance of winning too! It's not all perfect though. We're not keen on the buy-in options as there's surely no need for £10, £25, £50 and £100 wagers. We suspect most people will play 50p per game and only be able to win up to £500. This makes the "win up to £100,000" headline jackpot a bit redundant. Another issue is the prize selector. Yes this does add some suspense to proceedings but expect to always end up with the lowest possible option. This means that 99% of the time you'll be playing for £1 if you wager 50p. This means the house always takes 33% of the pot on every round. It'd be nice to see more variation in prize pots and/or the potential for a progressive (for example a win in 3 calls). A chat set-up would be nice as would be an option to enjoy a session of games between the same players. Overall though this is an exciting new innovation for online bingo players.
