Butterfly Bingo Review
Launched back in 2014, Butterfly Bingo is another Dragonfish Network site that tried to stand out from the crowd with it's own exclusive offers. It's a sister site to Bubble Bonus Bingo and up until 2017 it was hosted by Bertie The Butterfly. Sadly due to UKGC rules Bertie has been pushed to the background along with his Bertie's Bingo Balls game. However there's still plenty of good reasons to have a flutter on the bingo and slots at Butterfly Bingo. These include a good choice of 75 ball and 90 ball games alongside many top slots. There's also a bunch of regular player promotions including a prize bingo room that's shared with it's sister brands.
Introducing Butterfly Bingo
Bizarrely Butterfly Bingo is a site without butterflies. This has nothing to do with global warming but the ridiculous scaremongering that The UKGC have imprinted on brands. We guess a butterfly may be seen as appealing to kids! Anyway instead the site has a peaceful meadow background with blue skies. We're sure that there used to be a solitary bingo ball in situ but that has now gone. Overall we like the design. One thing we did like about Butterfly was the absence of any slots on the homepage. Very few bingo brands omit slots so it was a refreshing change. Sadly that has now changed! The site isn't designed to be responsive, but players can easily access Butterfly Bingo on mobile, tablet and desktop. No app is required to play bingo or slots on the site.
Butterfly Bingo Welcome Bonus

Newbie Bingo Room
You used to be able to access Butterfly Bingo for free and without making a deposit but this is no longer the case as there's been a subtle change with respect to access. Although The Daily Doozey is still open for three days for all new players to enjoy some free bingo games they now need to be funded in order to play. Free games play regularly throughout the day and offer the chance to win bingo bonuses - which do come with wagering terms. We're pretty disappointed that the no purchase necessary option has been dropped by the network as it means players can no longer try before they buy. If you do fund your account then it's worth playing in The Daily Doozey because there was only a handful of players when we checked in.
Butterfly Bingo Rooms
Login to Butterfly Bingo and you will find a handful of rooms alongside the aforementioned Daily Doozey. The rooms include 75 ball and 90 ball bingo as well as 52 ball games. The lobby has been revamped but still feels a bit clunky and not very user friendly. However it's relatively easy to switch between bingo rooms and slots although we do think it's in need of a rethink. Under the bingo tab you'll find Daily Jackpots, 90 Ball, 75 Ball, Specials, Main and Tournaments. The Main tab is where you'll find the popular rooms such as Big Fat 10, Sunny 90s and Chatterbox. All other rooms are jackpot rooms such as Mystery Jackpots, WOW and the Prize Room. Slots feature at Butterfly and there are well over 300 different games to play. These include Starburst, Millionaire Genie, Fluffy Favourites, Sugar Train, Fluffy Too, Chuzzle, Spinata Grande, Shaman's Dream, Piggy Payout and more. On top of that there's also plenty of other titles from the likes of Pariplay, Eyecon and Net Entertainment. More recently Slingo games have been added to the Dragonfish platform although we think the lobby area could be greatly improved to make the slots more accessible. There have been a number of lobby upgrades in recent times but for some reason they just can't quite make things useable. Sections for Slingo, Daily Drop Jackpots, Progressives, Megaways and New Games would be ideal.
Butterfly Bingo Promotions
One thing that helps differentiate Butterfly from many other Dragonfish brands is it's Prize Bingo room. Note that it shares this with Nutty, Hippo and others. Every month (typically on the 16th) you can play to win various tangible prizes such as a Year of Cinema or a Dual Air Fryer. Tickets to the Prize Room are not for sale. You have to either earn them or win them. Each month they will be running different promotions and offers for you to earn tickets. Interestingly the terms for the Prize Bingo Room say that it'll run until the end of 2022. Extra bonus rewards are available via the Butterfly Wheel plus there are daily bonus codes that you can use when depositing. Check out the bonuses under the promotions page but do make a note of the wagering terms.
Our Verdict
When Butterfly first landed we said that it flew higher than most other Dragonfish brands that we re currently active. The welcome bonus is attractive and there's plenty of free bingo although the newbie offer doesn't seem quite so good. The shared Prize Room is a plus point as is The Butterfly Wheel. However it's safe to say that Butterfly hasn't metamorphosised into anything better than it originally was. That in part falls down to limitations with respect to Dragonfish platform, takeovers and a decline in the bingo market. We have said in the past that this is "one brand that's definitely worth a look if you're looking for a Dragonfish brand to try" but in 2022 it's hard to argue a similar case. Yes it's OK as long as you're not looking for something along the lines of a Gala, Mecca, Buzz or Tombola.
