Glossy Bingo Review
Glossy Bingo launched in February 2013 and is a sister site of Butlers Bingo. The site originally had a unique magazine style look - along the lines of tabloid magazines such as Take A Break, OK Magazine or Chat. Among the homepage headlines were classics such as 'woman, 56, reunited with childhood sweetheart in bingo room'. Thankfully they've made a few changes since then including a new bingo platform in October 2020. The new platform is from Pragmatic Play who also power brands like Bet365, Betvictor and PlayOJO. But is Glossy Bingo a brand to take a close look at or just gloss over?
Introducing Glossy Bingo
Glossy Bingo's big claim to fame was that it was the home of a £1.2million progressive jackpot winner. Sadly this claim has been consigned to history and there's no reference to this big winner anywhere. Instead Glossy is an identikit Broadway Gaming brand (well before they acquired Dragonfish) which means it looks just like Rosy, Dotty and Bingo Diamond other than a different logo and a tweak in the colour scheme. The homepage for Glossy is simply a gateway to encourage you to join with limited content. The site is designed to be accessible on all platforms including mobile, tablet and desktop. No apps are available but they're not actually needed!
Glossy Bingo Welcome Offer
New players to Glossy Bingo are offered a first deposit welcome bonus. Register, login and deposit £10 to get a 100% bingo bonus up to £100. However by following our link you will find a different welcome offer where a £10 deposit will get you a £20 bonus plus 200 free spins on a selected slot (Noble Sky). Glossy Rooms Bingo
Login to the Glossy lobby and you will discover a handful of bingo rooms spanning 30, 50, 75, 80 and 90 ball variants. These include The Broadway Room (90), Friendship (90), Sapphire, Speed Bingo (30), Spinner Room and Rainbow Room. These rooms are shared with Diamond's sister sites and as far as we're aware Glossy Bingo doesn't have an exclusive room - although Broadway is exclusive to the group. Joining the standard bingo games are variations such as Animingo, Diamond Dazzle, Drop Pots and Bingo Blast. Ticket prices are reasonable at around 5p and 10p a ticket but since the move to Pragmatic Play we're pleased to report that there are now penny games.
Glossy Bingo Slots
Slots form a strong part of the Glossy roster and it's sister sites. Popular slots include Joker Ice Frenzy, 9 Masks of Fire, Gold Blitz, Blazing Bison, Noble Sky and Asgardian Fire. Whilst some of these slots will be familiar to some players the more traditional 'bingo site' names like Fluffy Favourites, Starburst and Rainbow Riches are nowhere to be seen. Also missing in action are Slingo games although you will find a bunch of Megaways titles. Glossy Bingo also shy away from the harder casino games such as Blackjack and Roulette plus you'll also not find Live Game Shows. For some this might be a deal breaker, but actually it's nice to discover a brand that isn't the identikit bingo site. The games that do find aren't well categorised though and we'd rather see better organisation than a whole section dedicated to just six scratchcard games, for example.
Glossy Bingo Promotions
During 2018 the Broadway group gave their players the chance to win cars, holidays and cash prizes in big monthly promos. We had hoped that this level of giveaway would continue after moving to Pragmatic Play but there's not been that much to write home about. Maybe they blew all the budget purchasing Dragonfish? Anyway there are a couple of network offers featured on the promotions page alongside a couple of Broadway Room exclusives. These include the JPGOT2GO event that has been retained from the original version. With JPGOT2GO, a £1000 Guaranteed Tiered Jackpot will be won each Thursday between 9pm and 11pm. Look out for mini JPGOT2GO events throughout the week too.
Our Verdict
Although Glossy can boast a big winner, the site hasn't really hit the heights compared to the likes of Foxy, Gala, Mecca and Tombola. Whilst it now looks considerably better there's nothing here that you won't find on Butlers Bingo or on other brands now using Pragmatic Play Bingo. The bingo and slots that are on offer are good and it's nice to see Broadway have improved issues with the wagering terms. There's also a welcome offer for bingo players - Jumpman Gaming take note! We'd like to see something that gives Glossy an edge over it's competitors or sister sites such as some free bingo games, promotions on social media or exclusives. Pragmatic Play Bingo fans will be fine with Glossy although Heart and PlayOJO do have the edge in terms of better offers.
