Rio Bingo Review
Back in 2014, Rio Bingo was the latest site to be launched from the people behind Costa Bingo. Surprisingly it used the Dragonfish platform rather than the company's own software which at the time powered Bgo.com - formerly Xbingo. It was a big, bold and bright site - and we presume chosen just in time to capitalise on the big sporting events that were scheduled to be taking place in Brazil at the time. Are you ready to join The Bingo Party?
Introducing Rio Bingo
You may have noticed we said was a big, bold and bright site. To be fair it is still very colourful but Rio, like other brands, has lost a lot of design to appease The UKGC. For example the site used to have background of Brazil and featured a macaw. Now all we get is a plain blue background and a facemask nod to Rio's Mardi Gras parades. Thankfully there's still plenty of colour to highlight the welcome offer and second deposit bonus.
Rio Bingo Welcome Offer
If you'd like to try Rio Bingo before making a deposit then you can visit The Bingo Academy. This is a free bingo room that's open for two days after registration and/or five days after your first deposit. Every 15 minutes you can play a 90 ball real cash game. Play for 25p for 1L, 50p for 2L and £1 for the full house. It's not exactly big money but it does give you a flavour of what to expect. Note that withdrawal terms apply so you will need to deposit before you can take out winnings.
New players who deposit £10 or more will receive 120 free bingo tickets as a bonus. These free bingo tickets can only be used in selected rooms: Ticket To Ride (75), Just The Ticket (75), Golden Ticket (90) and Choo Choo Ticket (5 Line). The rooms are open from 10am to midnight daily and winnings are paid as real cash. No wagering terms apply at Rio Bingo which is a plus point. Further free tickets - 60 and 30 respectively - are offered on your second and third deposits.
Rio Bingo Promotions
Login to the Rio Bingo lobby and you will find 90 ball, 75 ball, 5 Line and 52-5 rooms. The 5 Line game is a speedy version of 75 ball bingo with winners for 1L, 2L, 3L, 4L and the full house. In Bingo Vegas you play the traditional game but with playing cards instead of numbers. Ticket prices are reasonable. Typically expect to pay between 5p and 10p a ticket. However you will also find plenty of 1p and 2p games to enjoy. These rooms are joined by a number of regular jackpot games such as Go For Green and 1p Beach Party.
Other promotions are Gift Shop that plays at 8pm every Saturday. Tickets cost just 1p and there's a £50 prize pot on offer. Other jackpots to consider include Samba Stash. This is a 5 Line game as described above but the prize on offer is 500 Free Spins (100 per line). Tickets are just 5p and pre-buy is available. In fact pre-buy is an option on all jackpot games. Finally depositors get 24-hour access to the free Rio Reload room plus more free bingo tickets to Ticket To Ride, Just The Ticket etc.
When it launched Rio Bingo looked very impressive - as colourful and vibrant as Mardi Gras in the Brazilian Capital. Back in 2014 the future looked bright for this brand but in truth it's not really hit the heights that we'd have hoped. Unfortunately it's had to play second fiddle to the original brands on the network, Costa, City, Sing and Fancy. Regulation changes and a change of ownership hasn't helped it develop further either.
For players though there's still plenty to make a song and dance about. The welcome offer is attractive especially as no wagering terms apply. It's also cool that you can try the site with no deposit needed by accessing The Bingo Academy. We like the choice of rooms and slots but would like to see a few more variations. Promotions wise things could be better but the regular jackpots and deposit bonuses are sufficient to keep us entertained.
