Sweet Shop Bingo Review
Back in June 2016 Ignite (Mandalay Media) launched Deep Sea Bingo to join their stable of brands which includes Costa, Sing and Wish. The launch of Deep Sea marked a shift in approach as whilst it used the same software as it's sister sites, it was on the Dragonfish Network rather than Costa's own. We speculated that this may be the norm for new sites from that camp - so it came as no surprise that Sweet Shop Bingo followed in Deep Sea's footsteps.
When we first looked at Sweet Shop Bingo we said that the site looked decent. It featured a couple of olde candy shop sellers plus we liked the fact that the promotions are all in sweet jars. Now in 2020 that has all changed. The site has had to be changed to fit in with UKGC guidelines. Now what we have is a simple looking site that's mainly pink and green in colour. Look closely and there are some sweet jars shadowed in the depths. The promos in the jars have also been retained.
New players to Sweet Shop Bingo who deposit £10 are welcomed with a 600% bonus plus spins. This sounds quite generous but is in fact 60 Bingo Tickets for the £50 Daily Treat Room. The 50 spins are for selected slots only. In addition there's a second deposit bonus which gives you 40 Bingo Tickets and 20 slot spins. Note for this bonus you need to make a minimum deposit of £20 and use the code SWEET20. Wagering terms apply and these are x4 for bingo and x99 for games.
New players at Sweet Shop Bingo are treated to no deposit bingo. Register and login to access the Daily Doozey bingo room for three days after joining. Inside this free room you'll be able to play 75 ball games for the chance to win bonus prizes. These bonuses will attract wagering terms. Other free bingo rooms are available but you'll need to be a regular depositor to qualify for these particular games. Free bingo rooms include Quids In, On The House and Freebie.
Like Deep Sea, Sweet Shop offers access to a range of popular 75 and 90 ball bingo games. These are joined by Suits You, a 52 ball playing card game, and a 52 ball bingo roulette game. Additionally there are daily jackpot games plus a couple of free games including the £250 Sunday Sizzle and £1000 Magical Monday. The biggest game takes place at 10pm on the 10th of every month and is called The Big £10K. This is an invite only game where everyone's a winner!
The Big £10K is the main promotion but you'll also find Mystery Jackpots, The 2 Million Race and The Late Night Show. However don't expect to find any exclusives here. You will find loads of slots although we're not overly impressed with the lobby layout! Click to the slots section to find many popular games provided by Eyecon, Netent and Slingo as well as many more. You will find the crowd favourites like Rainbow Riches, Starburst, Fluffy Favourites and Millionaire Genie.
We can't say we're enamoured by the Sweet Shop Bingo brand. Online bingo already has Sugar, Cupcake, Tasty and Candy Shop for example. In truth none of these offer that much in the way of sweet treats. At least not beyond what you'd find as standard at any other Dragonfish site. For us Sweet Shop is a little bit too child orientated and with The UKGC clamping down on images and anything else that may appeal to underage visitors, we think Sweet Shop is better off closed down.
However it does remain open so should you play? Other than the welcome offer and Daily Doozey in our view there's not enough here that earns Sweet Shop a place in the bingo high street. Wink and Costa pretty much offer everything games wise and do it better. Sweet Shop has had nothing new or exclusive since it opened in 2016 and that's enough for us to suggest you go elsewhere.
