Slingo have undergone their umpteenth mini-makeover and to coincide with this they've launched a TV ad campaign. This, we understand, is the first in a series based upon the premise of "Slingo For It". Their first offering features a pretty young lady who's boyfriend has decided to go off and play tennis - the fool.
In the advert the pretty young lady is sat in a swanky looking kitchen, dressed in her dressing gown and enjoying a cuppa. Her boyfriend enters the room and dumps his tennis bag on the work surface. To get her revenge - or for a bit of fun - the girlfriend swaps a racket for a frying pan. Her boyfriend leaves unaware of the switch and so it's "game, set and match to the lady in the dressing gown".
The message with regards to Slingo is that if you like fun then there's plenty to be had at your finger tips by playing online - so Slingo For It. It's a little bit contrived but it's a fun advert and it's infinitely better than all the dry bingo and casino ads that have manifested themselves in recent times. We'd love to know her boyfriend's reaction when he discovers the racket/saucepan switch.
Free games are briefly touched upon during the ad, and there's mention of them at the bottom of the screen. However we don't feel there's enough mention of the welcome offer. This is currently five free games of Slingo Riches, plus free Slingo Boom. Terms apply.
If you're interested, we can tell you that the actress in the advert is played by Laura Jean Marsh (@LauraJeanMarsh on Twitter). She's appeared in Touch Of Cloth, Fool Britannia and Peep Show. We've not been able to determine the actor who plays the boyfriend.
