Is Super Millionaire Bingo Really Super?
Added On 5th March 2012
Big money bingo is always attractive so when you see Robin Hood Bingo offering a Super Millionaire £3million game you might well fancy a bit of that. If you're a Rangers or Portsmouth fan you might even think that this game could be the answer to some of your side's financial troubles too.
Sadly that's not quite going to happen! Whilst the game that will be played on 31st March is billed as the Super Millionaire £3million - only £10,000 is guaranteed to be won. That's because this is one of those "you'll win the big prize if you call bingo in an impossible number of calls" games.
In order to win you will need to call bingo on the coverall pattern in 24 to 25 calls. That's pretty much impossible - it's not improbable, but you've probably got more chance of meeting Elvis, Lord Lucan, ET and Shergar in The Lost City of Atlantis.
Despite that, if we strip the game back to reality, it's a £10,000 guaranteed game with £1 bingo cards. That compares favourably with other big jackpot games that tend to play at the end of the month (Jackpotjoy, BingoLinx etc). Which makes us wonder why it needs to be dressed up with this millionaire madness attached to it.
In fact, we do wonder whether people are put off playing these "big money games" when they know that the reality is no one will win. In fact, we're pretty sure that no one has ever won one of these millionaire games.
If you fancy trying though, the Super Millionaire £3million plays at Robin Hood Bingo, Moon Bingo and Polo Bingo on the 31st March. The cards are £1 each and you can pre-buy. If you do end up a millionaire do let us know - we'd love it if someone said we were wrong plus you can also give our regards to Elvis.
