Foxy Bingo Stubs Out Stacey Soloman

Added on Monday 5th March 2012

The Foxy Bingo Celebrity Mum of the Year 2012 has already attracted a lot of attention following the shortlisting of Natasha Giggs and Peaches Geldof. However, following the revelation this weekend that Stacey Soloman is smoking whilst 7 months pregnant, it has forced Foxy into releasing a statement regarding the matter.

Stacey, who won Celebrity Mum of the Year 2011, had been shortlisted for the Celebrity Mum of the Year 2012 award plus was due to judge the Mum of the Year with Foxy too. However, Foxy Bingo have decided to remove Stacey from the shortlist and she has also been stood down as a judge as well.

The Foxy Bingo statement includes the following:

"Stacey has apologised to the people at Foxy Bingo and is sorry and embarrassed by her actions. We understand Stacey is doing everything she can to stop smoking and in recent times has cut back dramatically. She's naturally disappointed but accepts Foxy Bingo's decision."

Foxy Bingo then go on to thank Stacey for her efforts so far with this year's Mum of the Year campaign. Stacey was believed to be one of the favourites to collect the 2012 award so a lot of potential embarrassment may well have been avoided for Foxy.

Foxy Bingo will be hoping that their other shortlisted celeb mums keep their noses clean press wise. Mind you, it's all good publicity for the Fox especially given the interest and column inches on gossip/celebrity sites regarding the shortlist.

However, players have reacted strongly to the news and have taken to Foxy Bingo's Facebook wall to vent their feelings about Foxy's decision. Many think that the decision is too harsh and that it will just cause more stress for Stacey. Foxy have countered by saying that they are "not making a judgement on Stacey as a mother with this decision".
