Well what do we know? We expected that Amanda Holden or Holly Willoghby will be crowned the Foxy Bingo Celebrity Mum of 2012 - but no. The winner has been announced as Katie Price. Katie was described by Foxy as a "wonderful role model for mothers faced with the difficulties of juggling work and motherhood, especially with the challenges she has faced with Harvey".
Katie was obviously pleased with the award and told The Sun that "winning Celebrity Mum of the Year for the second time feels like a huge triumph, especially because it's chosen by the public".
Katie succeeds last year's winner Stacey Soloman for the title. Contrary to press reports Stacey was not stripped of her 2011 Mum of the Year title - she was dropped from this year's awards and dropped from judging the non-celeb Mums contest.
As you'd expect, Katie Price aka Jordan, winning Mum of the Year hasn't gone down too well on the Foxy Bingo Facebook Page. One commentator said that Katie "makes Stacey look like a saint" whilst another suggested "a new dad every year was excellent parenting credentials". Another Facebook questioned whether "Joseph Fritzl was going to be Foxy Bingo's Dad of the year?". A bit strong that... and no that one didn't come from Peter Andre.
Having a go at Foxy Bingo about the winner seems a bit unfair to us. The fact is though the award to Katie Price - whether you agree she's a worth Mum or not - is not Foxy Bingo's fault. The award was voted for by the public and so if Foxy Bingo players are complaining about the winner then they need to question themselves as to whether they voted. The "fault" of who wins lies with people not voting and their fellow roomies who did vote.
