Jackpotjoy have launched a brand new advertising campaign that features mobility scooter racing OAPs, The Darkness and The Queen of Bingo. The general view of the advert is that it's their best yet - which is great news for the bingo and gaming site. To keep up the initial push of this promotion JPJ have released a "making of video" starring Barbara Windsor.
They say "making of.." but it's really more an interview with their Queen of Bingo about the day at Santapod, Northamptonshire. Babs goes on about how the rain helped create a better atmosphere for the advert and how she loves the mad over the wall ideas that Jackpotjoy come up with.
Aside from Babs talking about the day we do get a few insights on what the film crew went through to do the advert. There are shots of cameras wrapped up to keep them dry and we also see the scooters being "raced" attached to a truck!
Babs also mentions that she has less to say in the new advert although we don't learn if the end is nigh for her in this role. It's two years to the day (10th September) that Peggy Mitchell left Albert Square and a minutes later popped up on ITV as The Queen of Bingo so it wouldn't come as a shock to see her and JPJ eventually move on. Perhaps that departure will come in another advert?
In the meantime we're hoping for a director's cut of the mobility scooter race and who knows - that could be followed by a special edition and even a 3D version!!
