The focus of the gaming world may be on Candy Crush Saga these days, but one of the original big online games was Bejeweled. It's not gone away either and it's the subject of a new and improved online scratchcard from The National Lottery. The game gives you the chance to win up to £300,000 for £3 a card.
To play the game you simply click on the dice. The numbers then act as co-ordinates on a Bejeweled Blitz grid of gems. The gem at that rolled co-ordinate is then collected on the win table - and the grid moves as in the usual game. If this results in a row then this also adds to your win table. Complete three or more rows for the chance to win £5 to £300,000.
The gem collection prizes range from £3 to £1000. You need to collect three gems of the same kind to win. In addition to the table prizes there are also some instant win prizes in the grid. Roll the co-ordinates of those gems and you automatically get the cash prize shown. The game consists of 8 dice rolls and on our test games we managed to win £5 and £20!
The National Lottery site says the game is new and improved but we're unsure what exactly they've done other than improve the odds. The previous version had win odds of 1 in 3.88 but that's not 1 in 3.06. The game is fairly basic in play although it does have a nice bit if suspense with the dice rolls and co-ordinates.
Overall it's nice scratchcard but at £3 a pop we're again put off by the price. The thing is you can play six cards of Bejeweled Blitz Bingo for £1.50 and have all the fun of bingo plus playing a bonus round of Bejeweled. Of course the downside to that is that you're not playing for up to £300,000!
