New sites, revamps and relaunches are typical events in the online bingo event. But now we have name changes to contend with. Bingo Liner, which has been sailing the seas of slots and bingo for eons now have decided that it's time to rebrand. They've opted to call themselves Jackpot Liner!
The sinking of Bingo Liner and the arrival of Jackpot Liner follows a recent change by sister site, Bingo Cafe, to become Jackpot Cafe. It ties the three Leapfrog platform sites together as the third in the group is called King Jackpot. These changes suggest one thing to us and that's a departure from the port of bingo.
It would seem that Jackpot Liner's main aim is to appeal to the more lucrative slots market. Bingo hasn't been removed though and you can still play the usual games in the Starboard Lounge and Cruise Cafe. There's also some free bingo and a few promotions to enjoy too.
There's also no change in the welcome offer currently available at Jackpot Liner. New players are offered £20 free which can be used to play on slots and bingo. No deposit or credit card is needed to claim the bonus but you will need to download software on to your PC in order to play. In fairness, we'd have preferred to see a non-download version of Bingo Liner as opposed to a name change!
So will it be choppy waters ahead for Jackpot Liner? From a bingo point of view the name change does concern. Although not having "bingo" in the brand hasn't effected the likes of Jackpotjoy or Tombola. It may well be that slots players are more tempted to the site but bingo players less so, despite the £20 no deposit offer. The fact there's not a non-download version or mobile version of the site won't help.
