Since the arrival of Facebook social gaming has taken off online. Many of you will be familiar with Bejeweled, Candy Crush and Bubble Witch for example. One company hoping to emulate these success stories are Playspace who have devised a series of games where you can play and challenge your friends. One such game is the popular classic board game, Ludo.

Playspace Ludo

To play Playspace Ludo you need to register using your Facebook login. Once inside the gaming area just find a free game or perhaps set one up and wait for additional players to join you. It's free to play Ludo with Playspace but like all social games you can spend a few pennies to enhance your gaming experience and/or purchase gifts for other players.

Although the site states that it's free, Ludo actually costs you 50 coins to play. Don't worry though as you're given 100 free coins when you register. You can get additional free coins to play when you login, win a game or complete challenges such as taking up an offer or watching a video. If you want more coins then you can purchase them from the Playspace store. 500 Coins costs just 1.56 (so a game of Ludo is just under 16p). Payments can be done via credit card, Paypal and even mobile.

The Ludo game plays in exactly the same way as the board game. Players roll the dice with the aim to get their pawns home before their opponent. At the end of the game the coins on offer will be awarded to the winner. It's all very simple and actually quite enjoyable too.

Playspace Ludo though really comes into it's own when you use items from the store. We had a quick look round and discovered you can buy different pawn shapes, a good luck witch, gifts for friends and even an easter bunny that can kill rival pieces. Our advice is drop in on the store regularly just to remind yourself of what you can buy. Note that some items are restricted based on the level you're playing at whilst others depend on the number of friends you've accumulated.

If you enjoy playing games but are not tempted by the wide range of bingo and slots out there then Playspace Ludo is pretty good fun. It doesn't cost too much to play although we do advise keeping a careful eye on the purchases you do make in game. If you've played Ludo or any other Playspace game please feel free to comment below and let us know your experiences.
