The ongoing success of The Free Postcode Lottery has caught the eye of others who fancy jumping on the same bandwagon. In case you're unaware The FPL earns revenue from it's advertising and from those earnings it can afford to dish out £150 plus other prizes daily. With an ever increasing audience that should mean bigger prizes and more income.
So it's perhaps no surprise that the "kerching" possibilities of The FPL have resulted in some new additions to the "lottery" market. We use the use the word loosely because none of the sites mentioned within this article are lotteries. They're in fact prize draws and no skill is required in winning them. You just need to be drawn out the hat and then make a claim if you're lucky enough to win.
Number Plate Lottery
Number Plate Lotto is a recent addition to the market and as the name suggests it's after your car registration details rather than your postcode. Each day one number plate is chosen as a lucky winner - you just need to check back daily to see if you've won. The current prize is £5 daily but if unclaimed this can rollover. On Black Friday (27th November 2015) a £100 prize will be on offer. Number Plate Lotto is run by Buddings LLP which is owned by Robert Leighton and Matthew Drew.
Joining The FLP and NPL is The Selfie Lottery. To enter you need to upload a selfie and then check back daily to see if you've been selected as the lucky winner of £10. The site claims that at present it makes no money but will introduce advertising over the next 12 months. Selfie Lottery is run by Submission Technology Limited - they are the folks who brought Greasypalm to the internet.
Lucky Phone Lottery
In addition to the three sites above there's also Lucky Phone. This site launched back in May and is still ticking along with a £10 main prize and £5 lucky dip prize being offered daily. Joining them in the mix is Ashleigh Money Saver who runs a £50 daily prize draw.
So which site is best?
Well The FPL obviously has the edge over all it's wannabe competitors. It's the most well known and has the biggest prizes. On the flip side though you currently have less chance of winning versus some of the newer sites. Our advice is look closely at each and decide how happy you are dishing out your details. If you're happy to play then don't forget to check daily to see if you win.
If you've won at any of the sites - or have a comment about how good (or bad) they are then do let us know. You can contact us via the forums or Facebook.
