We regularly check out the special bet sections of the top bookies. Normally these areas are reserved for TV reality shows, song contests or politics. Occasionally though something crops up that is completely out of left field. Ladies and Gents, you're invited to bet on who will win the 2016 Nathans Hot Dog Eating Contest.

Nathans Hot Dog Eating Contest takes place on the 4th July at Nathan’s flagship restaurant. Legends of the Hot Dog eating world will be there to try and eat as many hot dogs as they possibly can. Sounds grim? Well take a look below at the video for the 2015 event.

The event is so popular that it's even being show live on Youtube and on ESPN. This year's event is particular special and it's the 100th Anniversary of Nathan's! So who should you be betting on to take the 2016 title? Well, according to Ladbrokes there are only two contenders - Matt Stonie who's at 11/10 and Joey Chestnut who's at 10/11. You can bet on A.N.Other to win and you'll get 8/1.

Stonie is the 2015 Champion whilst Chestnut is the current World Record Holder. Will Chestnut manage to up his game to take back the title he's won eight times before? Or is his reign well and truly over and it's now Stonie time? Who knows but at 11/10 Chestnut's probably not a bad bet. Mind you we're not experts at Hot Dog Eating Contests and have no idea what the going is like for this particular event.

The bookies obviously don't think anyone else is even in the running! And whilst there's a ladies contest also running, Ladbrokes aren't offering a book for that event. Miki Sudo and Sonya Thomas are the stand out "athletes" in that section with Sudo favourite to retain the title she won in 2015.

We'd love to know how much money Ladbrokes take on this hotdog eating contest book? We suspect that it might not attract too much business from UK punters... but then again perhaps a whole new betting market is about to open up?
