According to the legend, Robin Hood robbed from the rich and gave to the poor. That kind of premise has been adopted by Robin Hood Bingo who's strapline is "you play we giveaway". However we think there might be a little bit of discrepancy in their latest offering. The all new Robin's Prize Wheel that offers guaranteed prizes sounds amazing but it's not the cheapest feature to activate.
Players at Robin Hood can win a spin on Robin's Guaranteed Prize Wheel after they've wagered £500 at the site. Yes folks you read that right - £500. To us that seems a tad astronomical but perhaps the prizes on offer reflect the higher qualification amount? Well, let's see what you can win should you get the opportunity to spin the wheel.
The guaranteed prizes on offer are: 100 Free Spins for Kingdom of Cash, £2 Bonus, 15 Free Spins for Magical Forest, 10 Free spins for Kingdom of Cash, 1500 Free Coins, £50 Bonus, 5 Free Spins for Fruit Abduction, 500 Free Coins, 1000 Free Coins, 400 Free Coins and a Mystery Bonus.
Free spins come with a win cap of between £1 and £5 and terms apply to other bonuses. The best prize on the wheel is probably the £50 bonus. This represents a 10% cashback on the qualification amount of £500. On the flipside the £2 bonus represents only a 0.4% cashback amount. That seems a really poor return on wagering £500!
As bingo players it's important to look at features and what's on offer closely. To do that you need to assess the amount required for qualification and the potential minimum and maximum return. In many respects exactly the same approach when making purchases and investments. Bingo players need to check out the small print before being sucked into offers such as "guaranteed prizes".
Now don't get us wrong we do love features like The Prize Wheel and we do like Robin Hood Bingo, however we'd like to see the wheel tweaked a little. It'd be nice to see a lower qualification level - perhaps £100. That would mean the £2 prize becomes a 2% cashback offer. OK that's still quite low compared to other cashback offers, but better than 0.4%. The lower qualification limit would also mean players getting a spin more frequently - therefore giving more incentive to play and be interested in the feature.
Robin Hood isn't the only site offering a guaranteed prize win wheel. Robin's sister site at Moon also has the new featured - and we expect further sites in the United Bingo group will adopt it too.
