2016 wasn't exactly a vintage year for new bingo sites but 2017 is doing it's upmost to be even less inspiring. Long gone are the days of a big launch along the lines of Wink, Costa or even Sun Bingo. Instead we're left to feast on a cold buffet of pretty much the same dish but with different names. Surely there must be something a la carte on the new bingo site menu?
Our last new bingo site round up was back in November 2016 - remember when we used to the month to month? Anyway back then Cozy Games were dominating the new site list, but this time round it seems like Dragonfish are doing their best to offer something new to their ever expanding stable.
No Wagering Or No Deposit?
Perhaps the most interesting site among the newbies is Blighty Bingo. Whilst "yes" this is yet another Dragonfish Network site, it's main difference is that it offers no wagering terms. This means that all winnings are paid in cash and players don't have to worry about bonus balances and wagering conditions. New players are welcomed with £70 of bingo tickets and 10 spins when they deposit £10.
Whilst Blighty are trying to attract new players with zero wagering, another set of Dragonfish newcomers are trying a more traditional approach. Iconic, Peeps and Good Day all offer no deposit bonuses to players. The latter of the three has a £10 NDP bonus whilst it's a fiver from the other two. Note that Peeps and Good Day are in fact sister sites to Welcome Bingo which was launched last year.
Big Tease Or Chit Chat?
Joining all these brands on the Dragonfish network are three more established names. Bingozino, Bid Bingo and the more well known Chit Chat Bingo have transferred from G2Tech to Dragonfish. Whilst the brands are known, essentially they're now new sites. Our only niggle regarding these sites is that they're all identical - right down to their welcome offers and exclusive promotions.
Falling into the same category is the arrival of Big Tease Bingo. This is a sister site to Bingo Hollywood and it joins the Bingostars Network. At first glance Big Tease looks like it could offer something different to the discerning player - but sadly all you're actually getting is 'Hollywood but in a different dress.
Same Old! Same Old
Which brings us neatly to Cozy Games! Among the new arrivals since our last round up are Arctic, Paw Print, Jungle Fever, Bingo Gran, Plush, Nugget, 001 and Swag. Are they all roughly the same as everything you've seen before? Yes! Do they offer anything exclusive? No. That pretty much covers it - and it's pretty much why we don't include every brand on our lists.
One site that is on our list though is the Jumpman powered Volcano Bingo. This site is the latest addition to the Wheel of Slots group and although it is basically "same old same old" to what we've seen before, it does have exclusives. The Wheel Of Slots sites aren't the busiest brands - we're not sure why - but players who want something other than another Cozy or Dragonfish brand may fancy a visit?
Will Things Get Better?
The decline in new bingo sites - and dare we say it quality - could be down to two things. Firstly the arena is saturated and that makes getting traction very hard for a new brand, unless there's a lot of money to throw away. Secondly the Government was meant to be sorting out tax on free play in August. However this has gone AWOL due to the General Election therefore leaving the gambling industry in limbo.
Until the tax issues are sorted or clarified - so that operators know where they stand - we're not expecting anything significantly exciting to happen. Hopefully that will change by the time we do our next round up.
