Sun Bingo Aims To Take Both Gala World Records

Last week we told you that Sun Bingo were planning their first Having A Ball Live day in Blackpool and that players could win trips to the event. We also told you that Sun Bingo also plan to attempt to break some World Records during the event. Details about the actual records wasn't available, but they are now and it's not good news for Gala!
According to reports, Sun Bingo will be attempting to beat the record for the world's biggest bingo balls and biggest bingo card. They've got 75 x 70cm balls and a 4x4 metres game card for the event. The first world record attempt will take place on the seafront whilst the second will be held in Blackpool Tower.
Should Sun Bingo be successful with both attempts then they'll be taking both world records away from Gala! The biggest bingo card record currently stands at 5x2 metres and was used at a celebrity event in December 2014 to help raise funds for the Royal Voluntary Service. It should be noted that Gala played a 90 ball game for their record, whilst Sun Bingo are going to be using a 75 ball game.
Earlier in that year, Gala collected their first record for the biggest bingo balls. This occurred at a special event on Coronation Street and it saw past stars throwing numbers out of the houses on the famous street. You can see highlights of the event in the video above.
These record attempts signify a potential new rivalry in online bingo. To go after both records in one event shows that Sun Bingo really want to make their mark. It'll be interesting to see whether Gala will attempt to reclaim their records - should they lose them - or whether other brands consider these kind of publicity opportunities a good way to project themselves.
