A Sad Goodbye To The Boss Of Bgo.com

Added On 24th April 2018

Verne Troyer, who sadly passed away last week, was known to many as the Austin Powers character, Mini-Me. However, to many in the online gambling industry he was more well known as The Boss of Bgo.com. Not only did he star in numerous TV adverts for the brand, but he also featured on the website and social media channels.

The Boss at Bgo.com

Following the news of the Verne's death, Bgo.com have now removed images of him from their website. There's no mention of "The Boss" across both the casino and bingo channel. However you can still see the current TV advert by following a link on the site. That aside, it does seem very strange clicking to Bgo and not seeing Verne's face looking back at you. He will be missed!

Hugely Missed By Everyone

Bgo.com posted the following announcement on their Facebook page: "We are shocked and deeply saddened by the news that our Boss Verne Troyer has passed away. A great man that will be hugely missed by everyone. Our thoughts are with his family and friends".

Verne's arrival at Bgo.com was a massive turning point for the brand. His presence escalated the brand from just another casino - originating out of Xbingo - to one that suddenly had gravitas. Verne took up the role as The Boss in 2014. During his reign he shared the limelight with other celebs like Dan Bilzerian and Paris Hilton. Whilst those two didn't last long in their endorsement roles, Verne was a constant for Bgo!

RIP Verne Troyer

We think Bgo.com have done the right thing in removing Verne's images from the website. Although, it's a shame that there's no tribute to The Boss on the site. Perhaps that something for the future! We also hope that Bgo decide to retire the role of "The Boss". It was a fabulous campaign but it just wouldn't be the same with someone taking over from Verne.

Goodbye to The Boss - and RIP.
