Joining this bandwagon are Gala who have just launched another new 90 ball variant. It's called Hot House Bingo and it promises an "exciting twist on the standard" game.

Like Mecca Bingo's BOB games, Gala's Hot House Bingo is an Even Stevens game. Players can purchase a minimum and maximum of just three tickets. Hot House plays exactly as a normal 90 ball game, but the twist comes as all 90 balls are called. This means that all players will get a full house - however there's a further twist. The twist is that there are five coloured bands represented by prize pots. Everyone who calls house in a particular bands shares that prize.
Winning Zones
Not every band has a cash prize so the aim of the game is to call a full house in a winning prize band. The bands are 1 to 68 calls (red), 69 to 80 (purple), 81 to 84 (green), 85 to 90 (orange) and 90 (blue). The amounts you can win are a share of 40% of the pot, nothing, a share of 50% of the pot, nothing and a share of 10% of the pot. Note that there are no prizes for one line or two lines in this game.
Hot House Bingo adds excitement to the game in a number of ways. Firstly there's a good chance of winning something - albeit a small share of the first cash pot. Secondly there's the chance of winning nothing when you're in the 'nothing' zones. At that point you don't want to see your numbers get called. Finally, there's a decent prize on offer should you call house towards the end of the game.
What Are The Odds?
We quite like the Hot House Bingo format, but let's assess it a bit more analytically. Looking at 90 ball bingo odds and the results of a suite of 90 ball games, we'd suggest that 75% or more players would have a full house by call 68. This means for Hot House most players will share the 40% pot or get nothing.
Beyond call 80 we'd anticipate just a handful of players having a realistic chance of scoring the bigger prize. In other words, for the most part, players of Hot House will get a few pennies or nothing in every game. However, it's an interesting game to perhaps look at further in terms of odds and stats.
