Foxy Bingo To Launch New Site In November

Just over two weeks ago we reported that Foxy Casino had moved from Dragonfish Slots to the Cozy Games platform - or Electraworks as it's now known since GVC took over the company! We speculated that this move "lends weight to the idea that in 2019 we could see Foxy Bingo changing platforms too". Well, our prediction was mostly right but Foxy Bingo are changing platforms before the end of 2018.
In an email sent out to customers Foxy Bingo have announced that as of 20th November 2018 the Foxy Bingo website will no longer be operated by the 888 Group. After that date "ElectraWorks Limited, part of the GVC group of companies will be responsible for the operation and marketing of Foxy Bingo, and will offer you a new website and gaming products". Players don't have to do anything at this time.

However, Foxy Bingo have said in their email that "you will have 180 days from the 20th November 2018 to log into your Foxy Bingo account to accept or decline consent" to moving your account to the new platform. "If you decline or do not provide your consent during this period your account will be closed and the 888 Group will cash out any cash balance in your account".
Foxy Bingo launched in 2005 and quickly rose to become one of the most well known online bingo brands. Memorable adverts, sponsoring The Jeremy Kyle Show and mingling with celebrities helped Foxy's rise. This was all done on the Dragonfish/888 platform. However, things started to change at the start of 2017 when Kyle and bingo affiliates were dumped in favour of a new direction for Foxy involving influencers, "random fun" and Heather Graham.
The Good Old Days
In our view, Foxy has been in decline since then. In fairness this can be partially attributed to changes in the bingo landscape due to bonus changes and UKGC interventions. However, the "good old days" of Foxy being at the heart of online bingo are a distant memory. Even their latest foray onto the small screen is a dust down of pre-Heather Graham advert!
So will a move to Electraworks/Cozy Games give Foxy new life? We're not so sure. We expect Foxy will share the bingo rooms on the platform - as Think Bingo does - and this may boost player numbers and therefore jackpots. However, whilst the platform has been improved dramatically since GVC took over Cozy Games, it's still not as good as Dragonfish or Virtue Fusion.
The End Of Foxy Bingo?
For 888 this move is an interesting one! Losing Foxy will be a blow financially, but perhaps not as much as it would have been say 4 or 5 years ago. In our view, this move gives other brands on the platform the chance to step forward. 888 Ladies, Wink and Costa Bingo, should now be upping their game to attract Foxy players who like the Dragonfish set up and who don't fancy making the move to Cozy Games.
On the flipside, Foxy need to get this move right and make sure the Electraworks operation is as good as, if not better, than what they've offered to date. Their players will expect it! Foxy has been at the forefront of online bingo for year but if they slip up then that could seal it's demise. Foxy may have the brand name, but they're going to need a lot more to convince their players that this move is a good one for them.
