Stacey Dooley Favourite To Win Strictly 2018

Published On 6th November 2018

This season's Strictly Come Dancing series is already in full swing and already it's been full of controversy. Hopefully the issues surrounding Seann Walsh and Katya Jones are now past us and the focus can be on the remaining dancers. The big question therefore remains - who will lift that glitter ball trophy on December 4th 2018.

To be honest we've not seen that much of the latest series, but what we have seen of Stacey Dooley suggests that she's got a good chance of winning. Her Tango to the Doctor Who Theme was pretty cool - even more so when you consider she's not from a professional dancing background like Faye Tozer and Ashley Roberts.

Latest Strictly Odds

Stacey is currently 6/4 favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing 2018 with Ladbrokes. Joe Sugg - a vlogger apparently - is second favourite at 3/1 whilst Tozer is 4/1. An expected favourite, Ashley Roberts, is surprisingly off the pace at 6/1 but way ahead of Danny John-Jules who's at 12/1. We're not going to disagree with the bookies here. Stacey Dooley for the win!

Whilst Stacey looks to have the competition sewn up, there's still a few eliminations to go through. This week (10th November) is the one no one wants to go out as the following week (17th November) it's Blackpool Tower. For those dancers who aren't likely to win, dancing in Blackpool is regarded as a huge achievement - Strictly's version of a Wembley FA Cup Final.

Silverton Favourite To Go

However, Blackpool may not be the destination for BBC Newsreader Kate Silverton as she's 9/4 to leave the show this weekend. Kate will be performing the Quickstep and she wasn't in the dance-off last week so maybe it's the end of the road for Charles Venn and his partner Karen Clifton. Charles is 3/1 to be eliminated and may prove to be good value if he's unable to score highly with the judges with his Charleston. However, the Charleston is considered a safe dance and rarely results in a bottom two finish.

So also in trouble this week, at least according to the bookies, are Graeme Swann, who will be doing the Salsa, and Lauren Steadman who takes on the Viennese Waltz. Swann is 5/2 and Steadman is 7/2 to leave the show this week. Based on analysis Digital Spy believe that the Salsa is the hardest dance of the four being taken on by the favourites to leave. Therefore we're going to plump for Silverton to be safe and Graeme Swann to miss out on Blackpool.
