John Barrowman Favourite To Win I'm A Celebrity 2018
Article Updated On 13th November 2018
John Barrowman has been installed as the early favourite to win this year's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Even before a bug has been eaten the Doctor Who and Torchwood star is expected to take the title. In fact Barrowman has no obvious competition and he's miles ahead of the other contestants.
According to Bet365, John Barrowman is the 11/4 favourite to be crowned King/Queen of the Jungle. John has stated that he wants his title to be gender fluid if he wins! And provided he entertains the viewers and doesn't do a Biggins then he'll be the last person standing when the show concludes on the 9th December 2018.
Surprise Second Favourite
The Chase's Anne Hegarty is currently a surprise second favourite at 6/1 whilst James McVey and Sair Khan are both at 7s. Harry Redknapp is at 8/1 along with Emily Atack. That leaves Rita Symons and Fleur East at 10/1 with Malique Thompson-Dwyer and Nick Knowles following at 12/1.
Other bookies pretty much have the same offerings although the outsiders swap around a little. For example Sky have Rita Simons at 12s and Nick Knowles at 8/1. The consensus amongst them all is that John Barrowman is the current runaway favourite - and at around 3/1 we think that this is a nice safe punt.
Are The Bookies Right?
But will the bookies be right? How have they fared in previous years when it comes to who ends up winning I'm A Celebiryt? Back in 2017 they had Georgia Toffolo as the early favourite and sure enough she came through as the winner. Similarly in 2016, Scarlett Moffett was named as the pre-show favourite and went on to win.
However in 2015 the bookies screwed up as Union J's George Shelley was expected to win. He was around 4/1 for the title but lost out to Vicki Pattison who came in to the show a few days after the original group. Her gutsy performances endeared her to viewers and she ran away as the winner. If ITV pull a similar stunt this time round then this is where Barrowman could potentially have the crown snatched away!
We're predicting Barrowman for the win; Emily Atack to be the last girl standing; Harry Redknapp to be the first person voted out or to leave.
Updated 13/12/18: Well who would have thought Redknapp would hold out for the win? We fully expected that Hazza would have either jacked it in or been kicked out early doors. At least we called Emily Atack correctly. Mind you, the bookies had Anne Hegarty down as an early second favourite.
Odds were correct at time of writing.
