Are Festive Bingo Sites Just For Christmas

Published On 26th November 2018

Back in 2015 there was a spate of themed bingo site launches. Spy Bingo arrived in time for the release of Spectre whilst Dino and T-Rex pre-empted the return of Jurassic Park. Easter Bingo also popped out the woodwork along with a number of sites celebrating Christmas. We thought that kind of thing was all behind us - but now there's Cracker Bingo. But is it a good idea to have a festive themed bingo brand?

There are a number of festive themed bingo brands available to players. The newest being Cracker, but there's also Season Bingo, Elf Bingo, Jingle Bingo and even Santa's Bingo. You could even throw in Frozen and Snowy for good measure. Of all these brands only Elf (Jumpman) and Santa's (Cozy Games) are not on a Dragonfish powered platform. Cracker and Season are the only ones that offer a no wagering bingo experience.

Top 5 Christmas (ish) Bingo Sites

Pick A Present

For our money, Season Bingo should be the standout site of the group. It's a sister site to Costa and despite it's festive theme offered plenty of exciting promotions. However since The UKGC deemed that Santa appearing on a website was not acceptable, Season has dropped back into the shadows. That said it's still a decent site and with Pick A Present that offers a bonus every day it really is like Christmas.

Santa's Bingo doesn't feature on Loquax and to be honest we thought it was due to close down after UKGC reviews. There's no sign of Santa on the site but there's plenty of snow and a big sign saying North Pole. New players can claim a present of £3000 of no deposit bingo when they sign up. Wagering terms and conditions apply.

Jingle All The Way To Wink

If you visited Jingle Bingo a few years ago and then returned today you'll be pleasently surprised to discover it's not changed. There have been updates to offers and promotions but the site looks as festive as a brown box. Jingle has not had much love since it arrived on the scene and players are probably better off heading to it's big sister of Wink!

Like Jingle, Elf Bingo has pretty much no indication. of a festive theme. However, it did launch in December 2013 and possibly was inspired by a hit Christmas movie. Nowadays it's just another Jumpman site with very little in the way of bingo or bingo players. If it was originally aiming for the festive market then it's pretty clear that it's given it up as a bad idea.

It's A Cracker

Which brings us neatly on to Cracker Bingo! First up we're not convinced that putting a lady wearing a Santa hat makes a site festive. Cracker is simply a No Wagering Real Money site wrapped up in the same slots and bingo games. There's no focus on the theme or anything that lends itself to elevating Cracker above Yay, Blighty or Besties.

On the plus side it is a no wagering bingo brand - a nice present if no wagering terms is your thing. Plus there are daily opportunities for free spins and free bingo tickets. But what becomes of Cracker after 12th Night? Well, nothing as it stays the same - but with a festive brand name that doesn't quite fit for 11 months of the year.

Bah Humbug Bingo

So why aren't they - and indeed the other "festive" theme brands making hay whilst the sun isn't shining and baby it's cold outside? Perhaps the answer is quite simple! They just don't work. Why would you spend 6 to 8 weeks of the year focusing on a festive brand when it's better to spend 52 weeks of the year focusing on a non-festive brand and offering some Christmas promotions?

We'd most certainly be less "bah humbug" on the subject of Christmas bingo brands if they actually offered something more than other sites.. but they don't! If you're looking for a Christms themed bingo site then we'd put Season at the top of the tree. The rest deserve the sack and we don't means Santa's!
