7 More Dragonfish Bingo Sites To Close

Published On 22nd February 2019

Last month we told you that our Dragonfish powered bingo brands - Loquaxbingo.com and Prize-Bingo.co.uk would close at the end of February. We speculated that these alongside other recent closures would not be the last sites to close in 2019. And sadly we were right. A handful of other sites are also departing the Dragonfish Network from the start of March.

Prize Bingo To Close

The sites that we can confirm are closing at the end of February are: Gold Medal Bingo, Bingo52, Bingo Cove, Jetset Bingo, Biggest Bingo, Look Bingo and Flowerpot Bingo. For bingo players the departure of these brands is probably not a shock - mainly because they probably haven't heard of many of them.

Nutty Gardening Site

However the big surprise in that group is Flowerpot Bingo. This horticultural themed site only launched in 2016. It described itself as a "Nutty Gardening Site" and had much more modern look to it. At least when compared to our own brands and some of the others listed above. Flowerpot even had their own prize promotions - something many sites don't do.

Although we briefly featured Flowerpot Bingo on Loquax, it didn't attract player interest. A quick look at their site and the last promotion they offered was for March 2017. Perhaps that's an indicator that players didn't take to the brand from the start - and that the owners rapidly lost interest in the project?

Loss Of Interest

But why would an owner lose interest in their bingo brand? All the above sites are white labels - one party brands the site whilst another - Dragonfish - manages it. When we launched our sites it was easy to get traffic as players lapped up the no deposit bonuses and free bingo games. As bingo developed bigger brands arrived with better offers and bigger pockets.

Fast forward to 2016 and you have a saturated bingo market where getting players isn't easy. In addition there's more compliance issues and restrictions plus you need to spend money to get sites listed on influential sites. However it's all well and good spending money but what if the product doesn't start to generate revenue? The answer is you stop taking an interest in the product.

More To Come

The cull of small - or boutique to give them their posh name - bingo brands will continue in 2019. This is just the start and the list of closed bingo sites we grow. We already know Cozy Games will close sites this year as our own Snappy Bingo will close in May. The list of Dragonfish brands above also doesn't include sites we've not been able to access as they already have close. For example High Heel Bingo and Sophie's Bingo.

These closures are not bad news for players. The networks are simply weeding out sites that have ran their course. New sites continue to be launched: Umbingo and Dazzle Bingo for example on Dragonfish. These sites hope to succeed where the likes of Flowerpot, Prize Bingo and indeed Loquax Bingo have failed in recent years.
