With just over a week to go before Brexit no one seems to know whether we're in or out. Theresa May wants a third vote on her deal whilst at the same denying The UK people a second vote. Mind you she didn't legislate for John Bercow's intervention and it's anyone's guess if we will actually leave on March 29th. Thankfully Paddy Power have come up with the perfect antidote to all this Brexit madness.
Paddy Power have hired Eric Cantona to front a fun campaign called The Brexit Bunker. All is explained in the video above. Eric describes Brexit as going into Fergie Time and makes fun of some of his footballing exploits. There's even a few seagulls and sardines thrown in for good measure. Behind the video is a competition and Paddy Power are giving one lucky winner the chance to get away from Brexit - for a short time at least.
How To Enter
The prize is a break for two people at the Brexit Bunker. This break has to be taken on the 28th and 29th March 2019. Now the bunker is in fact the wonderful Spitbank Fort that's in The Solent, just off the coast of Portsmouth. The stay includes all meals plus travel to and from the fort. It's well worth checking out the hotel as a trip there looks to be an amazing experience.
To enter this competition you need to be registered with Paddy Power. After you've registered you can then send in your entry. For the chance to win you need to tell Paddy "why you think you deserve a break from the Brexit madness on the Bunker" Your entry can be in whatever form you like (video, image or text). Entries can be sent via email or posted on social media. If you choose the latter then tag @paddypower and use the hashtag #brexitbunker.
Runners Up Prizes
Entries can be made between the 19th and 23rd March 2019. The lucky winner must be available to take the prize on the designated dates. However, if Brexit doesn't happen then the winner still gets the prize - they'll just enjoy two days avoiding the fall out from The UK failing to hit it's much publicised deadline. Finally there are 5 runners up prizes of a signed Eric Cantona Manchester United jersey.
Even if you're not keen on the prize or don't fancy taking part, the video featuring Eric Cantona is worth a watch. Brexit is such a mess that there's not much left to do but laugh about it. Paddy Power and Cantona manage to create something that for just a couple of minutes breaks up the absurdity of the whole situation.
