Play Potion Bingo - 45 Ball Bingo
Article Updated On 31st July 2020
Do you like your bingo accompanied with a cauldron full of fun and a little bit of magic? If the answer is "yes" then Tombola's latest offering could be the perfect solution. They've just (August 2019) launched a brand new games called Potion. It's a 45 ball game that requires you to collect ingredients to complete potions in order to win prizes.
- Type Of Game: 45 Ball Bingo
- Cost: 5p to £2
- Open: 24/7
- Jackpots: Call A Recipe in 12 Calls or Less
- Extras: Magical Bingo Calls
- Special Features: Musical Potion Bottles
How To Play Potion Bingo
Potion Bingo is not the first 45 ball game. Pirates, also from Tombola, was a 45 ball game although this has now been replaced by Picture Bingo. To play Potion, login to Tombola and select the game to be taken to a world of bingo meets the Wizarding World. It could only get more magical if a young wizard by the name of Harry Potter popped up to call the numbers.
As is, there's no Potter, but there are five rooms to choose from: Toad, Cat, Mouse, Owl and Bat. Inside the room you'll be met with a cauldron of green gloop - where the numbers emerge - and a spell book giving you the price options. Each room runs it's own game and players can opt to wager 5p, 10p, 50p, £1 or £2 per game.
Youth, Love & Wisdom
Each player in a game has just one bingo card. This is made up of 18 numbers on potion bottles and three scrolls showing ingredients for a potion (youth, love and wisdom). The aim of the game is not to call all 18 numbers, but to collect all the ingredients for your potions before anyone else.
When the game starts the cauldron will produce numbers. If your number corresponds with one of your potion bottles numbers, it will reveal an ingredient, and it will fall into the cauldron, leaving one less on on your scroll. The game continues until all three potion prizes have been won.
The make up of the game means that the prizes on offer (wisdom > love > youth) can potentially be won in any order. Each recipe also has it's own jackpot but these can only be won in 5, 9 or 12 calls. The biggest prize on offer is a £20,000 fixed jackpot. This can be achieved by completing the Wisdom recipe in 12 calls and by wagering the maximum £2 stake. The maximum prize varies depending on your wager.
If you've ever wondered what happened to the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz then wonder no more. She's now a bingo caller on Tombola's Potion game. Her cackly calls are accompanied by an appropriate magical soundtrack. This soundtrack gets extremely tedious after a while but thankfully there's an option to turn it off.
It has to be said that Tombola do seem have the magical formula for creating fun games that appeal to bingo players. Dragonfish seem to struggle to come up with anything unique and Virtue Fusion are happy to go for populist themes like slots and TV shows. Tombola's Potion has all the ingredients to keep players interested without costing a fortune to play.
Everyone loves magic - the success of Harry Potter reflects that - and Halloween is always a huge event. The price is right too as you can choose to play from just 5p a turn. One thing to note is that the games are quite fast so it's sensible to not wager big unless you can afford to. We're not keen on the music mind, but that's not a deal break. In fact the only issue we could find with Potion was that it didn't conjure up a nice win when we played.
