A few years ago it wasn't unusual to see cars being offered as prizes on online casino and bingo sites. These days they are much rarer but if you dig deep you can still find car related promotions. For example Spin Rider, a brand managed by White Hat Gaming, give their players the chance to win a Porsche 718 Cayman. However this isn't the most straightforward prize draw.
To earn a prize draw entry for the chance to win a Porsche 718 Cayman Coupe you need to earn points. Points are collected for every £20 deposited and wagered twice. You will need to collect 500 points to receive one ticket to the prize draw. In monetary terms that's £10,000 of deposits that need to be wagered twice! There is no maximum number of Spin Rider Tickets for any player may earn.
How To Win A Porsche
So far so good! The first date for this prize draw was May 2018 but it takes place every 12 weeks thereafter. However, for the draw to happen there needs to be 90 new valid entrants in any one 12 week period. If this doesn't happen then the draw doesn't take place. We assume that the tickets roll over, however the points do not. So if you have collected 400 points in a 12 week period you'll be reset to 0. Collect a ticket and you keep the ticket but any extra points earnt are lost.
This mechanic raises the question as to whether any prize draw has occurred since it's inception in 2018. From what we can gather if 89 new players qualify for the draw in a 12 week period, then there's no draw. Those 89 qualifiers keep their tickets but a new set of 90 players are required in the subsequent 12 week period. This process will continue ad finitum until at some point at least 90 new players deposit £10,000 and wager it through x2.
Will Anyone Win?
Most certainly this is a high roller promotion and in our view it's a lot of style over substance. Whilst it looks great to see a "win a car" offer on a promotions page, it's not that attractive if the prize is out of reach of most players. It becomes even less attractive when the mechanic of the promotion means that the prize may not be won.
If you drop in on other White Hat Gaming brands such as Spinland, Jackpot Village and Casimba then you will find similar prize promotions. However the prizes on offer with these brands is valued at £10,000 a month. In the case of Casimba the prize is drawn when there are 30 new valid entrants in any one month. However it's still a prize draw for the high rollers and regular players with a few pounds to wager may as well disregard the promotion.
